Concierge counseling is a high-touch, personalized model of therapy that goes beyond traditional therapy.

Instead of fitting your life into a tight therapy slot, concierge care is designed to wrap support around your real life. It typically includes:

  • Priority access and flexible scheduling – easier rescheduling, sooner openings, and options for longer or more frequent sessions.
  • More ways to connect – such as secure messaging or brief check-ins between sessions for clarification, grounding, or support (within agreed boundaries).
  • Deeper, more holistic work – space to integrate emotional, relational, somatic, spiritual, and practical/strategic work in one aligned container.
  • Collaborative care when needed – with your consent, the therapist can more actively coordinate with other professionals (e.g., doctors, coaches, school or workplace supports).

It’s ethical & evidence-informed, but with more time, access, and personalization, designed for people who want a stronger relationship with their therapist and more integrated support.

Paying out of pocket for concierge counseling gives you a level of privacy, freedom, and depth that insurance-based care often can’t provide. As, we’re not required to bill through insurance, your work with The Holland Practice doesn’t have to be tied to a diagnosis, a limited “treatment plan,” or a rigid number of sessions. Instead, we can focus on what you actually need: prevention, deep healing, high-functioning support, or performance and leadership work—whether or not it fits neatly into a diagnostic box.

Some key benefits of paying privately for concierge care:

  • Greater privacy & control of your information – No automatic sharing of your records or diagnosis with insurance companies or employer-linked plans.
  • No diagnosis required for support – You can seek help for stress, burnout, transitions, identity work, spiritual concerns, or relational patterns without having to be labeled with a mental health disorder for coverage.
  • Session length & frequency that fit you – We can design longer sessions, intensive periods, or flexible pacing without worrying about “what insurance will approve.”
  • Truly individualized care – Your goals, values, and lived experience—not insurance policy—drive the work we do and the tools we use.
  • More holistic and preventative focus – We can work on alignment, purpose, body–mind integration, and long-term wellness, not just crisis stabilization.

For Clients, paying out of pocket for concierge counseling is an investment in agency: you choose your therapist, your pace, and your depth of work—while keeping your healing journey as private, intentional, and aligned as you want it to be.

The Holland Practice is happy to provide receipts for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please review your coverage carefully and consult with your insurance provider.

Consider asking your insurance company:

  • What are my mental health insurance benefits?
  • Has my deductible been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session (in-network and out-of-network)?
  • Does my insurance require pre-approval from my primary care physician?
